Great Notley Parish Council has for some time been planning an upgrade of the RAFT skate area at Notley Green and is delighted to announce that the project has now been completed and is open for use!
It has taken a while to bring this project to fruition - you may recall that over the last few years there has been substantial consultation with the local schools and youth groups including a drop in session at the Community Centre for residents and youngsters alike. Also funding was obtained from the Essex County Council Community Initiatives Fund, National Lottery Awards for All, Tesco bags of Help and Stansted Airport community fund.
Last year planning permission was obtained from Braintree District Council.
As well as the new Skate feature a new youth shelter has been installed and the existing goal ends have been repaired and repainted. It is hoped that young people and teenagers in particular will enjoy this super new facility in the Parish!
